To change how DevOps engineers and SREs work together to resolve incidents.
Although collaborative tools exist for many other areas of working life - Framer for web design, Notion for note taking, Pitch for presentations to name just a few, there is no collaborative solution for DevOps, especially monitoring tools for site reliability engineers (SREs). Fiberplane was developed to allow SREs to collaborate on incident response in large distributed systems, letting experts work together to fix outages and reduce downtime.
This is an exciting area for a startup to grow in, as there is no real competition in this important niche. While existing processes for collaboration on incident response exist, they are usually cobbled together from screenshots of dashboards and logs pasted to a slack channel. Fiberplane integrates with data sources used by SREs and pipes relevant information into a collaborative notebook which can be filtered, manipulated and edited in real time by a team, much like Google Docs.
This step forward for collaboration in DevOps has been met with enthusiasm. Fiberplane has recently completed seed round funding, co-led by Crane Venture Partners and Notion Capital. It is planning to introduce a pricing model and looking to hire software engineering and marketing talent ahead of its public release.
