To show real-time aircraft flight tracking information on a map.
What began as hobby project in 2006 between two Swedish friends "accidentally" became the largest ADS-B network in the world with over 30,000 connected receivers. Flightradar24 is a global flight tracking service that provides real-time aircraft around the world.
The interest in tracking flights keeps rising, whether to track a loved one, an incoming plane someone is planning to catch later, or to witness a US Air Force plane deliver House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in Taiwan, as 700,000 people did via Flightradar24’s site.
Indeed, for a myriad of reasons the website sees high traffic given the unique and intriguing service. The company built its own network of ADS-B receivers covering, as aforementioned, around 34,000 units, including remote areas such as Antartica. Flightradar24 continues to refine its technology to deliver an even more sophisticated service.
