Our take

Floom is an online curated floristry website that offers bouquets from independent florists, delivered the same-day. By focusing on independent, high-quality florists Floom claims that it delivers a superior product with less environmental costs.

Floom originally made its money by taking a commission on each sale made via the site, but now it's avoiding the seasonal swings of floristry by gaining revenue from providing software. The product is an all-in-one piece of business management software that florists can use to manage their inventory, orders, customer service and so on.

Operating in both the UK and US, Floom has now accrued around a quarter of a million customers. Whilst it competes with Interflora and Bloom & Wild, the company continues to bring in substantial funding and is receiving strategic advise from some of the country's top investors.
