Our mission is to empower the world to visualise and tell stories with data.
Kiln’s flagship product, Flourish, is a self-service tool that allows non-coders to create high-end visualisations and stories. Their customers include leading newsrooms (BBC, FT), major corporates (Goldman Sachs, Moody’s), NGOs (Amnesty, Rockefeller) and several global universities.
In addition to data science, there is growing demand for data storytelling and data journalism as businesses seek better ways to communicate important findings. Flourish is also used as a platform through which freelancers and agencies serve bespoke graphics to their own customers.
With the growing impact of AI, it is likely that the tools for analysis, publishing and presentation will merge initially to create visualisations automatically but over time also to find insights, identify trends and maybe even tell stories. In such as world, the creativity of a studio like Kiln will really find its relevance.
