The service is all about delivering fresh, entertaining content to this specialist consumer sector. In addition to social gaming platforms such as Twitch and YouTube Gaming, the service provides a new way to reach gamers with short-form content.
FreshCut launched as a direct rival to the more established Boom.TV and the company have been pursuing a partnerships strategy to drive growth. The company partnered with AnimeHouston to provide event highlight clips and weekly gaming competition East Coast Throwdown. With the success of viral video platforms such as TikTok and Snapchat, FreshCut hopes to bring the trend to the gaming space, and the recent funding it received will help facilitate this.
