GSK Tech is set to build a suite of next-generation platforms for data- and prediction-driven drug discovery in support of GSK's Research and AI/ML organizations, and an industry-leading data engineering function in support of AI/ML and Genomic Sciences.
GSK’s ambitions go far past the data lake: they’re building a comprehensive data and machine learning ecosystem that can speak to the customers in their own scientific and technical language and semantics. Enabled by GSK Knowledge Graph, powered by machine learning, and underpinned by natural language processing, GSK's vision is for accessibility to data (and, importantly, the knowledge it represents). GSK wants to increase this tenfold, taking mere moments to find, access, and integrate the right information.
The creation of GSK Tech shows GSK's commitment to making a major investment in changing how we think about data in the research space, and levelling up the data experience for GSK's researchers, scientists, computational scientists, AI/ML Engineers, and ultimately decision-makers. As of 2024, GSK is putting more energy into its Cyber Security features, thus widening its market reach.

I've been working for RnD for more than 2 years, yet before Onyx was created. Every single project I have worked on was a challenge because everything was new. I can also use my Unix skills to resolve problems related to the infrastructure. Dealing with projects and supporting users is a challenge, but I like it.

I like creating Ansible playbooks to automate processes. I also like dealing with Observability tools. Some of the things have to be implemented from scratch and there are no ready solutions on the Internet. Here at Onyx I have a chance to do these things and keep learning everyday.

While attending the first TownHall meeting I encouraged that there are only nice people at Onyx! By the way it was the first TownHall, where I spoke up in my 5 year career at GSK, I've never done this while attending the GP&T meetings. I've had an opportunity to work with some people, who are now Onyx members, before. Now I'm doing whatever I can to invite more nice people and to help creating a nice place to be. I'm proud of being the Onyx member! Hopefully I'm considered as a nice guy too ;)
