GSR's mission is to pioneer financial services for cryptocurrency markets.
Our take
GSR is a crypto trading firm, liquidity provider, and investor which works with crypto projects, exchanges, and miners as well as traditional financial institutions and family offices. Since launching in 2013, the company has expanded into every major sector of the crypto ecosystem. Indeed, on the investing side, GSR’s portfolio makes for encouraging reading, including Ethereum, Coinlist, and Polkadot.
The company’s chief value proposition is its expertise and reliability – something that’s essential in the increasingly volatile, though still potentially very lucrative, crypto market. It’s to GSR’s credit that it’s managed to steer well clear of most of the market’s turbulence over the last few years.
Having grown rapidly throughout 2021 and expanded its headcount by over 200%, GSR hit a slight downturn when it had to lay off around 10% of its staff. That being said, the company seems to have emerged from this, and is now refocusing on another growth phase.

(President)Spent 11 years in commodities trading at Goldman Sachs, between New York and London Managing Director and Global Head of Crude Oil and Derivatives Trading.
Cristian Gil
(Chairman)Previously worked as a Commodities Trader for nine years at Goldman Sachs in New York. Has since managed an active portfolio of investments across the technology, real estate, hospitality and media sectors.
