Since I joined Garrison, I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with different teams, which broadened my horizons!

Garrison uses some of the latest technologies, both hardware and software and provides engineers with the freedom to develop our product without blockers

Having autonomy at work means you are free and trusted by the company to make decisions, set priorities and work as you think is best. And that's exactly the case at Garrison.

Garrison is much like London, diverse and representational of London. As someone who is Female, Brown and visibly Muslim, I feel comfortable and I'm treated exactly how everyone else is and its great. Everyone is so welcoming, so nice and the vibes are on point. The EDI committee also work on actionable result driven progress to improve the company such as in increasing gender diversity which is a problem in Engineering to be representational of the females entering the field or the implementation of a prayer/meditation room that is inclusive for anyone who wants to take a break/pray regardless of who they are. Inclusion is a priority.

The people and teams in Garrison strike a really good balance somehow at being able to be yourself, whether you're introverted or extroverted. The team are also really helpful and great at collaborating and working with each other. there's ton of different social opportunities and events, which are also very inclusive and well thought out. Its also a great vibe, probably because a lot of people are like minded. If I could keep staying in London (hopefully) I would probably stay here a long long time, its hard to miss any of your previous places when you're at Garrison.

When I started, I had recently graduated and so this was my first practical engineering position. I got given my own project to work on straight away and by the end of the first month I had 2 major projects given to me too. It was challenging in the right way and I've developed a lot, but it wasn't too much as I was also given a lot of support when I needed it. I've learnt so much during my time here and there are bi-weekly one to ones to ensure I continue developing and am Working to my goals of what I'd like to learn/develop in/achieve.

A generous training budget and days off for training available to all staff, resets every year! Very helpful for when learning opportunities become available and allows staff to develop.

The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. The office has a great vibe during the week and the company socials are always a pleasure to attend with colleagues/friends!

Management are always looking to be open and accepting to any ideas or improvements. Every 2 weeks we have a business update and management answer anonymous questions and will take on board any feedback, often leading to positive change!

The technology we use is cutting edge in the market and requires different ways of implementing it. It is very challenging to design a quality product with strong security requirements and high performance.

Garrison is a youthful and fun company with a very good and healthy environment. The dynamic across teams is great. We have quarterly socials and weekly activities such as football game, climbing, poker nights and much more!

We have flexible working hours being able to work remotely for a short period of time or being able to adjust core hours as we like. Working abroad for a sensible period of time is also an option at Garrison that helps people from different countries to spend more time in their home city/town.

Garrison product is technically complex and spans the entire technology stack, from hardware and Linux kernels, FPGAs, Android, platform c++, web services and the cloud. Being involved in a relatively small engineering team for this scale of stack means there's plenty of chances to learn about new tech from skilled engineers.

I can honestly say that the people at Garrison are the best that I've worked with. I have made many friends through work, so much so that I consider them friends first and colleagues second.

Garrison engineers all take responsibility to a high level. There are engineer team leads, and then everyone else is the same. Everyone is given chances to lead projects if they want to, and to work on designs that they are interested in.
