To empower individuals and businesses worldwide through innovative technology solutions.
When it comes to building websites, speed matters. A successful publicity campaign - such as Little Caesar's 2020 superbowl commercial - can become an expensive failure as the increased traffic causes websites to crash. Gatsby exists to allow developers to build faster sites using modern web technologies such as React and GraphQL, as well as providing a suite of collaborative and cloud-based tools for developing and deploying these sites at scale.
The web development market is extremely crowded, and Gatsby faces intense competition from the likes of Vercel. However Gatsby stands out with its speed, boasting 50% faster page loading and 20 times faster build times than anything else on the market. This has led to it building an impressive customer base which includes the likes of Mattel, Twilio and Verizon.
Gatsby was acquired by Netlify in early 2023. As Netlify was already the most straightforward way to deploy Gatsby sites, this makes a lot of sense and will further improve the integration between the two services. The money raised from the purchase will also be used to further accelerate Gatsby's product roadmap and drive the adoption of its product among enterprise teams.
