Genie

From my first day I have been given ownership of my own projects and responsibilities, with the support I need to succeed. Not only have I learned new skills, but I have been doing work across strategy, operations and hiring that is just the right mix of difficult, rewarding and engaging. Moreover, on the eng/product side, we are solving an extremely exciting and technically challenging problem - the kind of project that demands intellectual engagement from the whole team!

When I joined Genie, I was given a level of responsibility and autonomy that I have never experienced elsewhere - the best way to learn. Moreover, not only am I learning new things through my direct role (from ops to competitor mapping to business strategy work) but I am actively encouraged to learn from my teammates who are focused on product (as I have an interest there) and engineering - sitting in on discussions and contributing ideas where possible. I have learned a ridiculous amount from being in this environment - the people are phenomenal - and I could not recommend it more.

Every idea is considered, and every member of the team is actively encouraged to contribute to key decisions and thought processes. I am the youngest employee at the company, and yet my views have been valued and embraced - there is no concept of sr/jr - it is very much a 'good idea no matter where it is from' approach. Moreover, communication from leadership is candid and honest, and the environment at the company is one in which I feel that I can speak openly and offer my opinion.

Genie's team are visionaries with the highest ambition. I've been given immediate ownership of work like no other employer before. The learning curve is unparalleled especially for younger individuals who are hungry to achieve great things. Working in such a fast paced environment is truly rewarding.

At Genie, your input and contribution is always recognised and more so ignites your purpose and full potential. Lack of hierarchical barriers allows smooth and open communication between teams.

The team is still relatively small, and everybody is autonomous, so there are a lot of opportunities to grow in the company and work on various projects.
