Our take

Genvid Technologies is looking to revolutionise broadcasting through a form of entertainment that couples traditional storytelling with the immersion and interactivity of video games: Massively Interactive Live Events (MILEs).

Genvid offers developers its MILE SDK technology that passes audio and video to a streaming platform, as well as synchronized game-data to an interactive overlay on the end of the users’ device to create a new interactive media event that combines TV with gaming. Genvid has seen success with MILE genre games, ‘Rival Peaks’ and ‘Pac-Man Community’, which attracted tens of millions of Facebook users in just one year.

New funding will be used to establish Genvid Entertainment, a new publishing subsidiary dedicated to producing MILEs, following the success of ‘Rival Peaks’ which was not produced in-house. The company is seeing rapid growth and, with this addition, projects to triple in size in the next few years.
