Most of us will have taken part in a scavenger hunt at some point in our lives. Invented in the 1930s, the game is usually played by children, but in recent years a surprising development has occurred: scavenger hunts are becoming popular among adults. In fact, many brands, non-profits, companies and educational institutions are now turning to this old-school event to heighten engagement among employees and students.

Founded in 2011, GooseChase is an online platform which helps organisers create and run digital scavenger hunt experiences through players' mobile devices. Commonly used for team building, learning and public engagement products, GooseChase's strategy is aimed at accessing users' inner child to promote engagement with what might ordinarily be dry and boring topics.
