Granular Energy

From day one I've been encouraged to share my opinions on how the product should work, even as a newcomer to the company and the energy industry. Everyone recognises that good ideas can come from anywhere, whether it's design input from a backend engineer or business logic improvements from the commercial team. Such wins are frequently celebrated in our weekly all-hands meetings. In addition, we have a friendly environment where feedback can be discussed candidly during team retrospectives. Suggestions are acknowledged (and are often implemented) with immediate effect, helping us minimise pain points in the development process.

I was shocked when I found out that “100% renewable” electricity tariffs aren’t as green as they’re often made out to be. That’s why I’m super excited to be working on a product that enables suppliers to provide greater transparency to consumers about how and where their electricity is generated, every hour of every day. We’ve received a great deal of interest from clients across the world and it’s baffling to consider, on a global scale, how much clean energy they could be managing via the Granular platform!

I work with brilliant people who are driven by the urgency of the climate crisis and the need for a more sustainable grid. I'm able to link every new feature we develop to ways in which we can accelerate this transition.
