Company mission

Greener Beans is on a mission to help shoppers choose the sustainable food they want. By helping shoppers easily identify more sustainable options and the difference they could make, they make shopping sustainably an easy and rewarding experience. They are working with actors across the food system in order to provide guidance in a pragmatic way and create incentives to increase the demand and supply of sustainable food.

Our take

Our food system generates 30% of global climate changing greenhouse gas emissions. In response to this, Greener Beans has the ambitious goal of cutting 20 million tonnes of CO₂ from UK groceries by empowering people to shop sustainably.

To realise their vision, they are working with stakeholders across the food system, including retailers, producers, policy groups and shoppers to provide a robust solution that could pave the way to shifting the system.

Greener Beans determines its guidance through a transparent Sustainability Measurement System, based on environmental, social, and governance data and evaluating products across a wide range of environmental and ethical indicators.

The team has extensive experience in the food and agriculture industries which will be valuable in differentiating their shopping app from similar offerings when it is launched.
