Our take
Domestic heating alone accounts for 13% of the UK’s annual emissions footprint, which is comparable to the contribution of all petrol and diesel cars on UK roads, and low carbon heat networks are a fundamental part of the UK’s decarbonisation strategy. Guru’s technology supports both the digitalisation and decarbonisation of heat, two of the biggest challenges we face in the transition to a net-zero emissions future.
Guru is part of the solution to this problem as a supplier of IoT hardware, software, and analytics solutions to energy companies, house builders, developers and housing associations looking to reduce their carbon footprint.
Guru's technology also helps lower operating costs, meet regulatory obligations, and deliver the most efficient and cost-effective services to customers. The Guru System provides real-time data on tenants’ energy use, enabling housing associations to quickly intervene to safeguard residents’ well being.

I'm Irish and like to travel, I'll often work from Ireland or other parts of Europe for a few days etc. Guru are very accommodating of this. I also tend to prefer different schedules depending on the season, e.g. in winter i like to take a few hours off in the afternoon to enjoy the daylight, and Guru are cool with me working into the evening instead.

The biggest single contributor to greenhouse gases in the UK is the heating industry. Guru's mission is to reduce these carbon emissions. I wouldn't say i joined Guru because of this, but it's definitely felt great working for such a cause the last 3 and a half years. And i get to meet cool like minded people at work!

Guru has more than doubled in size since i joined over 3 years ago. Yet we've maintained our culture throughout that growth. It's always been a fun place to work. The supportive & fun energy that we have comes from top down, from our CEO Casey right through the whole team. We have a big focus on Culture & Employee Experience and do lots of fun things together. From lunches & afterwork beers, to games on fridays, to fun socials in different places.
