Our take

In the past, independent providers of home services had a more direct connection to their customers, a relationship that is far less common in the 21st century. Nowadays, many people struggle to find quality, trustworthy tradesmen. Handy aims to reignite the relationship between independent services and their clients through direct communication channels and advanced search engines.

Handy provides a mobile application for on-demand home services such as cleaning, assembly and furniture delivery. The digital platform currently has over 10,000 professionals registered, with the startup booking over 100,000 jobs per month. After their first retail partnership with Wayfair.com, Handy now offers furniture as well as help moving or assembling these products.

The company was initially presented with competition in the on-demand services industry by companies such as Homejoy and Hassle, but neither have succeeded to scale with such success. With funding of over $100 million, Handy is focusing on continuing to optimize the services that they currently offer before expanding to provide additional services.
