Our take
When a patient is discharged from the hospital, families are often put under an overwhelming amount of stress. It can be difficult to take responsibility for the care of a loved one, and a lack of support from healthcare services often results in readmission to the hospital.
Health Recovery Solutions (HRS) develops software applications, wearable technology, and tablets that provide remote patient monitoring. These products aim to engage patients and home carers and provide a link to providers. Monitored health data is then analyzed to predict potential outcomes, a process that cuts down 30-day readmissions by as much as 80 percent.
The startup has raised $87 million to date and is using it to scale the business and form new partnerships to reach more patients. Whilst HRS holds its roots in software development, the company also aims to continue the development of wearable health monitoring hardware.
