To transform the smartphone camera into a medical device to deliver healthcare at the speed of life.
52% employee growth in 12 months
Many people suffering from health problems don't monitor or treat the illness as they should because it's too complicated to do so. For example, 10% of Britons present a high risk for chronic kidney disease (CKD) but they don't do their annual urine test because it's too inconvenient to drive to a nearby hospital.
Healthy.io is setting out to solve this problem by leveraging AI to create a digital solution for disease management. The startup's solution transforms the smartphone camera into a clinical-grade medical device, providing patients with the flexibility to manage their conditions at a convenient time. For example, female patients can conduct a UTI test at home, scan the results via an app and receive a remote diagnosis from a specialist within 30 minutes.
Healthy.io's solution not only facilitates disease testing, but it helps doctors streamline the triage procedure, prioritize urgent cases and cut costs associated with unnecessary consultations. Due to the success of its initial tests, the startup is focused on developing new at-home medical-grade testing kits for multiple diseases, starting with developing a dermatological product. In line with this vision, the startup most recently raised $60m, which will fund its global expansion and product development.
