Making quality of life the driver of better healthcare
There is a great need for better data in quality assurance, measurement of treatment outcomes and medical research. Traditionally, healthcare systems have evaluated the quality of medical care based solely on whether errors were made, rather than whether the patient had a good outcome or actually benefitted from the treatment. This is what Heartbeat wants to change.
In a nutshell, their software integrates Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) with clinical data already collected, combining the two to allow doctors to make more meaningful assessments of patient outcomes. In this way, Heartbeat is highly disruptive, refocusing healthcare towards patient outcomes and quality of life.
Heartbeat is already used by many European hospitals, including the Charité, Europe’s leading university hospital, as well as the Sana and Helios clinics, Germany’s largest private hospital chains. Following major funding across multiple rounds, Heartbeat is currently focusing on expanding its data analysis capabilities and expanding its partnerships.
