Company mission

Making it possible for anyone to benefit from owning real assets in the cities that they love. To date, these investment opportunities have been restricted to institutions and wealthy individuals. The Hedgehog app gives individuals the ability to pick and choose what they want to own from a wide range of assets across international cities. In doing so, we help investors build a portfolio in line with their own personal preferences and values.

Our take

Investing in real assets, including real estate, has historically been the preserve of the one percent and financial institutions. Individuals seeking to invest in real assets have faced limited choice, high costs and complex processes. The barriers to entry have been overwhelming.

Hedgehog is challenging this by creating a level playing field for individuals to invest in institutional-grade real assets. Whether you are looking to earn income or make a positive environmental and social impact, Hedgehog gives users the opportunity to do so via a selection of investment opportunities. Using the interactive Hedgehog app, step into a city you love and create a portfolio based on your preferences and values.

Hedgehog is joining a rising number of apps that have been slowly revolutionising the investment world. Other trading apps that have also been making it much easier to invest include eToro and Robinhood. Moreover, retail investing levels have continued to soar in recent years.

Rob spent 10 years at Partners Group, a global investment manager that has invested over $150bn in private markets since it was founded. In addition to private markets experience, Rob is also a digital entrepreneur, having previously co-founded a digital platform.

Michael Ward

(Co-Founder)

Michael has 10 years of experience across both public and private markets, starting in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs before working in a hedge fund at Polar Capital.
