To make scalable, social infrastructure available to every team across all platforms and experience levels.
Heroic Labs started out building an easy-to-implement game developer backend for multiplayer gaming that helps lay out leaderboards and chatrooms. Initially a full stack for game developers, Heroic Labs has expanded into building a full cloud platform that manages and scales infrastructure, allowing the developers themselves the time they need to actually build the game, rather than fussing over administrative tasks.
With their two products - Satori and Nakama - Heroic Labs aim to make casual game building easy and accessible, providing the building blocks for developers. Its $120K seed funding from Y Combinator in 2015 has helped it seek out new partnerships, most recently with the Swedish game engine Defold. Heroic Labs is also partnered with developer studios such as EA and Paradox Interactive, embedding them within causal and multiplayer mobile gaming culture.
