Our take

The founders of Heygo believe that travel is incredibly important for personal development, but is often an expensive activity that's not accessible to everyone. Heygo aims to change this by creating a live-streaming travel platform allowing local guides to share the places they know best with a large online audience.

Heygo's business model helps make travel accessible: the company runs the tours for free, but tips are encouraged. The majority of the revenue is offered to the guides, while the rest covers streaming and transaction costs. Moreover, the company aims to make the tours as interactive as possible - virtual tourists are encouraged to ask questions via a chat feature, which allows real-time conversations between the participants and the guides.

The company was founded in 2020 and its main priority is improving the user experience and adding additional features. As part of this initiative, the company plans to offer private tours in the future and to allow participants to contact guides individually.
