Our take
Hi is a blockchain fintech company that aims to build the most user-friendly and functional crypto and fiat app. Melding a digital banking platform with crypto exchange functions, users can utilise various services on the hi app such as savings and investments, payments and lifestyle benefits.
With the hi app having reached 1.7 million downloads and counting and with 3.5 million sign-ups to its services since launching in 2021, part of the company’s success can be tracked to the company’s co-founder Sean Rach. They are the former CMO of crypto.com, a pioneer in cryptocurrency services. This high-profile founding member is a clear boon of confidence in the company, which benefited from $30 million in venture capital in 2023.
Hi is clearly focused on worldwide adoption of its platform. In 2022, it released a personal IBAN for its account holders, meaning that users can send and receive money in euro and GBP through SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) and FPS (Faster Payment Services). With this legitimising feature and a team-up with Mastercard for NFT payment cards, the company is well equipped to make waves in the blockchain payments market.
