To help loved ones who are ageing or have special needs live with dignity and purpose while reducing the stress, strain, work, and worry for their family members.
3% employee growth in 12 months
Over one fifth of Americans have caregiving responsibilities towards an adult loved one, and this number has been increasing sharply for decades. The strains of this responsibility can be substantial, with many caregivers foregoing attention to their own health and financial wellbeing. With fewer professional caregivers available, burnout is a growing risk.
Homethrive is an online platform offering a wealth of resources, guidance, and advice to these unpaid and untrained caregivers. Users can either pair with a professional care guide to establish a care plan, or take advantage of the resources and guidance of its digital assistant Dari.
The growing urgency of caregiver burnout has attracted the attention of other similar healthtech startups too, like assistance-sourcing platforms Papa and DUOS. They’ve been cashing in generous funding, as has Homethrive, suggesting a real market demand for - and confidence in - healthtech as a solution to the increasingly urgent issue of caregiving.
Homethrive’s platform is a shade more comprehensive than these competitors, however, and has successfully begun to launch as an employment benefit across the US. It’s an interesting solution, and Homethrive is making steady and much needed progress in the field.

As a startup, we're a scrappy and fast-moving bunch. I've had to stretch myself daily to meet goals and to come up with new goals as the company moves at lighting speed. I'm given autonomy to make decisions and am encouraged to challenge my superiors on their decisions.

Challenging work

I've learned how to use several platforms/softwares/programs I never used in my former career, and my co-workers have been extremely helpful in coaching me on how to use them. It's made my work more efficient, and overall, better.

I work remotely and nobody is hovering over me all hours of the day to make sure I'm at my computer. I get my work done on my time, collaborate with co-workers as needed, but am mostly left alone to do what I need to do. Sometimes I go several days without hearing from my boss because she trusts me to do what they hired me to do.

There is a culture of us all learning together. As a startup, there is not a clear path laid out for where we are going/how we should do it. Instead, each employee is expected to be resourceful, lean on each other, and take initiative to learn skills that will help us grow.

Finding folks across the company who I genuinely connect with and care about has been key to my success at Homethrive. I not only have great coworkers, but also strong friendships I have created during my time here.

After caring for my grandmother and watching others in my family care for loved ones, I knew this mission meant a lot to me. The passion for our mission is present throughout the company and is a driving force behind everything we do.
