Our take
Access to healthcare in the rural US is limited by a shortage of healthcare professionals as well as a lack of care infrastructure compared to urban areas. It would be a monumental task to tackle this directly, but Homeward Health delivers an alternative by supplementing existing care routes.
It does this by connecting members to local resources, employing advanced analytics to ensure each patient can find the right care for them that is covered by their healthcare plan. It also operates its own care teams that support local practices and reach people who would normally have trouble accessing care alone.
Overall, Homeward Health's service delivers an accessible option especially to older members of the public who can struggle to navigate the modern healthcare landscape. This positive community impact has contributed to the company earning B-Corp status, as it works towards solving the rural healthcare crisis.

Was a Clinical Advisory Board Member for Doctors on Demand, and has also worked as a Medical Consultant, Hospitalist and Chief Resident.
