Our take

Small businesses are often underserved by legacy banking when it comes to loans. Community banks were few and far between when Honeycomb Credit emerged on the market in 2017 and serves small businesses through acting as a funding and investment offering platform. Honeycomb effectively acts as a bank, allowing customers to raise debt capital of up to $5 million, backed by individual investors. Customers get funding campaign support and a network of interested investors to boost their publicity and funding.

Investors can participate in funding small businesses for as little $100, and according to reports, more than 80% of Honeycomb’s customers have achieved their funding goals. This is close to four times more successful than funding via the leading crowdfunding platforms. Honeycomb Credit’s focus on the “circular economy” is key here, companies on its platform paying back fans and communities rather than Wall Street bankers.
