Our take

Hubbub is an environmental charity dedicated to creating playful campaigns that encourage the public to adopt greener living habits. It’s an increasingly hot-button issue, with social awareness mounting regarding the state of the planet, and governments introducing stricter regulations regarding sustainable practices.

What’s particularly notable with Hubbub is its capacity to convert strong ethics into tangible change. The organization’s Ballot Bin initiative is reducing cigarette butt litter by up to 46% in 46 countries; the Community Fridge project is helping to reduce food waste and shortages in over 600 UK locations; and Community Calling has seen over 10K used phones passed onto digitally excluded people.

It’s an impressive feat, but Hubbub’s campaigns are likely to continue gathering momentum as the world is obliged - socially, environmentally, or legally - to place heavier emphasis on the kind of sustainable measures Hubbub both promotes and facilitates.
