To empower humanity by building the most reliable, safe, and helpful humanoid robots.
Humanoid is one of a new wave of startups hoping to turn science fiction into something that can be deployed in a warehouse. Backed by some serious funding, the company is building general-purpose robots designed to work alongside people. With a focus on industry, Humanoid hopes to move its products into domestic settings later down the line. And it's setting out to create a world where fleets of humanoid robots handle the dull, dirty, and dangerous jobs, so humans are free to engage in more creative (and less back-breaking) work.
It's the first of its kind in the UK to seriously attempt to build and commercialise a full-stack humanoid robotics platform at scale. While much of the hype has been dominated in the US, Humanoid wants to carve out its own lane with a bit of a twist: wheels first, legs later. Its industrial robots use an omnidirectional wheeled base topped with a humanoid torso, designed for tasks like packing and moving goods. And behind the scenes sits KinetIQ, a four-layer AI system that orchestrates everything from fleet-level task planning down to millisecond joint control.
With labour shortages across manufacturing, logistics, and retail, and the humanoid robotics market forecast to be worth tens of billions over the next decade, it's looking like the timing might be right for Humanoid. The company is betting that businesses will adopt robots-as-a-service models to plug workforce gaps and hopes to move into service roles before the end of the decade. Only once this is done, its setting its sights on the home. If it works, Humanoid could become a defining European player in a field that's so far been dominated elsewhere.
