Our take

The rise and rise of ridesharing is driving risk from individuals towards commercial fleets and creates negative incentives for gig drivers to drive for longer and get to the next job without delay, pitting fleets, drivers and insurers against each other in a zero-sum game. Humn is a London-based startup providing real-time analytics & insurance pricing for commercial fleet drivers.

Their core platform utilises streaming telematic data and adjusts insurance pricing in real time reacting to the driver’s usage, behaviour, environment and needs. They focus primarily on ride-hailing, vehicle sharing and delivery services and are disrupting the commercial insurance industry by providing solutions that support the sharing economy.

From recent investment, Humn plan to develop their unique insurance data capabilities and commercial functions of the business. They are looking to expand more within the UK and EU, and advance their mission of providing the first Autonomous Vehicle insurance policy.
