Joining the swathes of medical and scientific professionals embracing the benefits of artificial intelligence in medicine and healthcare, the founders of Madrid-based Idoven have extensive experience as scientific researchers for international healthcare institutions. The duo’s combined decades at CNIC and the European Society for Cardiology resulted in Idoven, a MedTech company focused on advancing technology for early-stage detection of and precision medicine for cardiovascular disease.
With notable backers including former Real Madrid football captain Iker Casillas claiming Idoven was “the artificial intelligence that saved” his life, the MedTech company has enjoyed a large amount of publicity since its founding in 2018. The company also partners with charities for vulnerable groups, such as people with Down Syndrome, to find early warning signs of cardiovascular problems. This successful marketing has helped Idoven achieve tens of millions of euros in grant, seed, and Series A funding.
With 2022’s 18 million euros and hefty grants from the European Innovation Council Fund under its belt, Idoven is planning to spend it developing and bettering its AI tech. A grant from EIT Health in 2023 will aid Idoven in its development of the first AI-based solution for the early detection of acute myocardial infarction The ASSIST innovation project consortium, led by the Spanish startup Idoven , has obtained 1.5 million euros in funding from EIT Health , which is part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) , a body of the European Union. in two years to develop the first AI-based solution for early diagnosis and accurate triage of acute myocardial infarction. The amount of attention it has garnered already shows just how beneficial its software is for the medical field.
