Impossible Food's mission is to make the global food system truly sustainable by making meat, fish and dairy products from plants.
As the world becomes more aware of the environmental impact of meat consumption, more and more people are exploring plant-based alternatives to animal products. There are currently around 90 million vegans globally, making up 1 percent of the population, and it's predicted to increase to one in 10 people over the next decade.
Impossible Foods is one company that has established itself as a major player in the alternative meat market, offering soy-based products that look and cook like meat, including burgers, sausages, and mince. The company offers its products to consumers around the world both online and via grocery stores. It has also broken into the B2B market, supplying the likes of Burger King, Red Robin, and White Castle with their vegetarian alternatives.
Impossible Foods has experienced difficulties recently as sales in the plant-based meat category have plummeted in 2022 and 2023, owing to persistently high costs and potential health concerns regarding the ingredients used. However the company is fighting back with an aggressive marketing campaign to help make the brand a household name. As the number of people switching to a vegan diet is only increasing, the company hopes to weather the temporary difficulties and position itself as the leader in a category that is still only in its earliest days.
