To redefine beauty standards and advocate for fierce individuality, whilst championing sustainable choices for a healthier planet.
Finding a hair product that works for your hair can be really tough, but it can be even harder to find a product that isn’t contributing to the climate or mental health crises affecting the world. The haircare industry produces too much plastic and carbon emissions while selling their products with advertising that, to put it bluntly, often makes customers feel absolutely awful about themselves.
Indie exists to solve these issues, by producing ethically-tested hair care products made with carefully chosen natural ingredients and packaged in a distinctive, refillable container to cut down on plastic waste. On top of that the company has partnered with Carbon Trap, a UK-based carbon capture company, to capture 8,000 kg of CO2 and plant thousands of wildflowers.
None of this would mean much if the products didn’t work, but they have been very popular with customers, garnering very positive reviews on Trustpilot. The company is currently raising pre-seed funding with the goal of rounding out its founding team and scaling its operations. Looking forward, the company is well poised to greatly reduce the waste and damage produced by the haircare industry in the UK.
