Our take

Food production and consumption has a huge effect on the environment, and it is an area where businesses and consumers alike have shown interest in lowering their carbon footprints, waste outputs and overall impact. However, a lack of transparency in the labelling of products, combined with deliberate greenwashing, makes it difficult for real progress to be made. Inoqo provides a SaaS platform and a consumer app to empower both companies and individuals to operate and shop in line with their environmental values.

Inoqo was founded in 2020 in response to the frustrations of trying to become more eco-friendly in a low-information space. Its platform combines public and private data alongside an AI-led algorithm to measure the impact of any F&B product across its entire lifecycle, which allows companies to make better purchasing and production decisions towards lowering their environmental impact. For consumers, Inoqo’s mobile app can scan receipts and rate items by their eco-footprint, providing green alternatives so that they can easily switch their buying habits with confidence.

Inoqo has seen significant investment which showcases industry confidence in its products. Funds will go towards expanding its team and improving the app towards a full-scale launch.
