Our take

With an annual audience of around 25 million, Inside Higher Ed is the leading provider of news, analysis, and industry insights for the higher education industry in the USA. A higher education job board alongside other market-related tools and services, the subscription website has become a key source of information for students, faculty, university leadership, and even US policymakers.

In 2022, IHE was acquired by Times Higher Education, an offshoot of the newspaper that offers data and insights into university education across the globe. IHE still runs independently but benefits from the global audience base of THE, which was itself acquired by Inflexion Private Equity in 2019. This is an important step for IHE, which now has a combined audience with THE of about 50 million.
