Company mission

To ensure the playing field for scientific research is leveled globally, and that research conducted in a democratic environment, with the use of innovative technologies, should be made available to anyone.

Our take

Founded in 2004 and built by scientists for scientists, IntechOpen is a publisher of Open Access books, providing a collaborative environment for scientific thinkers. With over 185 million downloads and through collaborating with book translator, Enago, IntechOpen has positioned itself as a global leader delivering vastly accessible content around the world.

Although IntechOpen has its critics, it has undoubtedly published work from reputable authors, including Nobel Prize winning scientists. After years of expanding as an Open Access publisher, having published over 6,000 Open Access books, under new leadership, the company has recently branched out, launching a portfolio of Open Science journals, thereby creating a new and unique global home for researchers to publish their work.
