To help people make the most of their time on the go. Time in transit will only grow as use of mobility as a service and self driving cars grows. With Ivee, that transit time can be more relaxing, entertaining, and productive.
Ivee partners with ride-hailing companies and individual drivers to offer headrest-mounted tablets, which can access streaming platforms and other entertainment apps. The company is also aiming to expand its services to include e-commerce apps, games, web browsing, and even rear-seat cushions with massage functions.
The company’s business model is very interesting. As well as winning partnerships with LA-based mobility operator Evolgo, Ivee has been providing its entire tech stack to individual drivers at the likes of Lyft and Uber for free in a bid to drum up consumer (and company) interest. As passengers interact with the setup, intermittent adverts make both driver and company extra money.
It might take some time for Ivee’s offering to really hit the mainstream, and one stumbling block in generating consumer interest may be that the average ride-hailing journey is a relatively short 5 miles.
That being said, founder and CEO Alex Giannikoulis has an impressive business track record, and the company has also gathered a high profile advisory board with experience from Google and Uber, two major factors which should stand Ivee in good stead as it looks to grow.
