Our take

Ultra-fast delivery services, which saw an initial boom during the pandemic, appear to be here to stay. JOKR is one such service, providing 15-minute groceries by leveraging micro-hub fulfilment centers to deliver at speed.

The market is a crowded one, with competitors including Getir, GoPuff, and Gorillas already on the scene. However, JOKR stands out by its implementation of advanced data-collection and forecasting to keep relevant stock available at its micro-hubs - a novel way to navigate a key issue for players in the space.

After enjoying initial success, it was announced that JOKR would by closing its doors on the US market "for now", ceasing operations and productions there to focus on the growing Latin American market. Even further, it abandoned its presence in Chile and Colombia to concentrate on Brazil, securing impressive funding to double down on operations there and work towards a more sustainable future for the business.
