Our take

Jelly's intuitive and simple app is the #1 all-in-one platform for the global foodservice industry, providing a food costing tool for chefs which automatically keeps costing up to date. It aims to remove stress and inefficiencies from a chef's life so they can focus on doing what they do best, serving great food.

The app provides users with a daily price report, up-to-date food margins, a simplified inventory, and options for ordering to suppliers. 25% of foodservice businesses are at risk of closing at any given time, so Jelly is aiming to combat this by removing from chefs the need to carry out tasks like costing dishes, saving them time and money.

Jelly is now used by hundreds of top chefs, such as Michelin-starred Angela Hartnett. Having received funding from Tier 1 VCs, including those backing Just Eat, Transferwise, and Revolut, Jelly has grown manifold over the previous few years.

JJ studied Physics at Imperial College before working as an Equity Derivatives Trader at Citi. He left the corporate world in 2016 to chef in prestigious restaurants, before founding Jelly.
