Our take
Joos want to fix an incessant anxiety for modern mobile phone users, running out of charge on the go. The company believes the total addressable market is £3Bn.
After observing how widespread power bank rental was in Asia, they delivered the model to the UK, where existing charging solutions usually meant leaving a phone in a locked cabinet. Like in Asia, you can simply rent a Joos charger from one location and drop it off in another.
The company competes with ChargedUp and other venture-backed networks. However, Joos is the only solution in Europe with Apple’s MFi Licence. The focus now is on expansion beyond their current base across the UK & Ireland.
