To make our lives more sustainable and drive the energy transition in industry.
If we are to reach the ambitious and vital climate goals needed to stop the world overheating, the energy industry needs to change. Kraftblock develops technology to tackle two key industry issues; the storage of energy generated by renewables, and the recycling of wasted heat energy from industrial processes.
Industrial processes tend to generate massive amounts of thermal energy, which is usually released into the atmosphere. By capturing this heat energy in its Waste-Heat Recycling storage systems, Kraftblock unlocks an entirely new mode of environmentally friendly energy. In addition, its Net-Zero Heat systems enable the switch to renewables for high-energy processes, by storing wind and solar energy in large quantities for later use.
Thus, Kraftblock's products have the potential to make a significant impact on the carbon footprint of industry - if widely adopted. A recent funding round will allow the company to expand operations and its business reach, and support the construction of the world’s largest commercial high-temperature storage system in collaboration with PepsiCo and Eneco.
