To unite and align the parties bringing the UK to net zero.

When co-founder Andy wanted to make his cycle helmet business Hedkayse carbon neutral, he looked to offset its emissions locally rather than overseas. Quickly he learnt that doing so would be more complicated than first expected, with there being no central place to source information about projects, their developers and their credentials, this is when the idea for Kana was born.
Kana is an infrastructure putting all British nature-based carbon projects in one place. Playing matchmaker between landowners and investors with the capital to help them get possible carbon emission projects off the ground. It's an ambitious idea but one that the UK needs to focus on in order to reach the climate change commitments it has made to be net zero by 2050.
While progress is steadily being made, there is still a lot of work to be done in order to substantially reduce emissions. With its directory and upcoming plans to further build out its infrastructure, Kana is well on its way to making a huge impact on the UK's climate change commitments.

Learning about a new space / market can be daunting. Working at Kana, I went from being a complete newbie in the Carbon space to feeling confident about speaking with stakeholders in the market. The team at Kana take the time to explain and no question is stupid

Working in this space / market means that the work you are doing is going towards a meaningful cause. Helping to improve technology within the Carbon / Green space will help to drive efficiencies ultimately leading to the UK (& the world) being able to reach 2050 targets. For me, this means the motivation for my work is greater, and I feel a sense of greater achievement than I have in other industries.
