Our take
Karshare is a community car-sharing platform. According to the UK's Government, there need to be 50% fewer cars on the UK roads by 2030 in order to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, thus the company believes that car-sharing platforms will experience a boom in the following period.
Karshare stands out as its launch was inspired by the many people who lost their jobs during the pandemic and were looking for additional sources of income - the company claims that its car owners can increase their monthly income by up to £550 by using its service.
Karshare's recent fundraising efforts, both through crowdfunding platforms and traditional venture capital will be invested in expansion into new UK cities, in Karshare's technology and in growing its team.
