To revolutionise lending and inspire financial inclusion, helping customers to unlock the power of credit, jumpstart their future and smash their goals.
Due to the changes in the way people work – young people in particular – with many now operating the freelance and creator economies with irregular, less predictable income, it’s becoming more difficult to access credit. In fact, London startup Keebo estimates that the UK alone is home to over five million “credit invisible” people.
The company offers a Mastercard-supported credit card which uses open banking data to build a clearer picture of customers’ financial behaviour, with the aim of creating wider access, especially for those who don’t align with traditional models of credit worthiness.
Having only launched its card in early 2022, Keebo is still very much in its infancy. However, the fact that it's the only company which leverages open banking-based underwriting to be authorised by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) stands it in good stead. It’s also secured promising venture capital backing to support its launch and growth.
