Company mission

To map how heat escapes from buildings.

Our take

Describing itself as the “Google Maps of Heat Loss”, Kestrix is an energy-efficiency start-up that uses drones and heat cameras to analyse the insulation requirements of buildings. In turn, these building surveys provide property managers and developers with the information they need to make their buildings more cost-effective and better insulated. With 100 million homes in Europe requiring improved insulation to reach 2050 net zero targets and a staggering 17.5% of all emissions coming from the heating and cooling of buildings, Kestrix has its work cut out for it.

Focusing on retrofitting insulation, Kestrix has heat-mapped over 1000 buildings since 2022. It uses thermal imaging and AI to analyse the key areas of heat loss in a building. It's also enjoyed great PR due to its co-founder's appearance on the Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2024 and is emboldened in its mission by a grant from Innovate UK.
