Kindred provides a members-only home swapping platform, allowing users to access rental homes for a fraction of usual prices, only paying for service and cleaning fees. Members receive personalized matches based on their preferences and can video call with the owners before making any formal arrangement, allowing them to benefit from the system whilst controlling who stays in their home.
Whilst the company faces competition from traditional accommodation marketplaces such as Booking.com and home rental marketplaces such as Airbnb, Kindred significantly stands out with its unique goal of providing cheap, comfortable, and community-focused home swaps. The company also provides $100,000 home insurance, free service cleaning, and hosting essentials such as spare bedding and lockboxes, removing any stress associated with hosting guests.
