Our take

Klydo is a machine learning startup in the creative space of design and innovation. It was founded to help businesses discover unprompted consumer insights from million of untapped online reviews that are often hidden in the vastness of the web.

Their product taps into the wealth of information that exists online (forums, blogs, reviews, etc.) to offer user researchers a unique perspective on people's struggles and aspirations. These insights help product teams make better decisions about what user problems to tackle and how to build better products to solve them.

Klydo believe this novel way of surfacing insights for innovation and design projects is carving out an entirely new category of "augmented discovery insights". It is currently in beta mode and is looking to launch once this phase is successfully completed.

Nick started his career in tech consulting at KPMG before seeing the light and jumping into the startup world

Following degrees in both Engineering and Design, Wai-chuen founded Metadrift (VR archive discovery) with Nick before starting Klydo together

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Klydo

  • At the heart of what we're doing at Klydo is helping people solve problems more creatively. Creativity requires diversity in thought and experience which is why we need an incredibly diverse team to make Klydo a success.
  • We want to ensure we're building a balanced and diverse team right from the get-go, which can be challenging for an early-stage startup. We're doing this by removing bias from our interview process where possible (e.g. using independent scorecards) and monitoring the gender balance in our pipeline so that we can keep it equal.
  • We are also constantly looking for better ways to create an inclusive and supportive culture. This includes flexible working (we care about output not hours), learning and development budget, mental health support (we use Spill), as well as regular culture workshops and improvement initiatives.
  • We also realise that we can always improve and so adopt an attitude of trying out any ideas suggested by the team. This means we're constantly trying out new ways to improve our culture. We'd love to hear about any ideas you have!
