Our take

Knife & Fork Media is a London-based hospitality media business that owns CODE Hospitality and The Good Food Guide. CODE Hospitality started life in 2013 with the publication of the CODE Bulletin, a weekly round-up of news, insight and opportunities across the industry. Now read by more than 50,000 hospitality professionals every Monday morning, it has been joined by the CODE app, a perks platform exclusively for people working in the industry.

In 2021, The Good Food Guide joined the fold after ceasing publication under Waitrose during the pandemic. This heritage publication was founded by Raymond Postgate in 1951 to raise the standard of British cooking and the enjoyment of eating out, and for the past seven decades has remained true to its principals of impartial, trusted reviews using an extensive reader network and expert anonymous inspections.

Under Knife & Fork Media, the publication is being brought into the digital age with an app-based version of the Guide alongside online editorial, a weekly newsletter and member benefits. Given the highly digitalised news consumption of today, this is intended to help the publication reach a wider audience.
