Our take

Access to good legal advice is vital to many aspects of our lives from job disputes to battles with your landlord. However, the law world is seen as inaccessible to most, with only a privileged few lucky enough to have a lawyer on speed dial. More than 98% of potential legal cases are abandoned, largely due to the time, cost and stress involved.

Lawya provides a simple interface that makes understanding your legal situation as easy as booking a taxi. Getting legal advice within their app is as simple as taking a survey, the answers to the most common legal questions can be found quickly and easily. And, it's all completely free.

The legal tech world has been heating up recently with multiple companies entering the sector, many with the aim to democratise law and protect the rights of people using technology to deliver legal services at scale. Companies such as DoNotPay have enjoyed massive success and raised millions of dollars. Lawya have bootstrapped their MVP and are now working on improving their product and the quality and quantity of legal services they are able to offer.
