To democratise access to coding to everyone.
77% female employees
Learning to code is one of the most powerful ways for students to future-proof their careers in the rapidly evolving 21st century global economy. However, it remains an often daunting and confusing task, with many unsure where to begin, particularly when faced with digital learning without in-person access.
Le Wagon is solving this problem with its coding school, offering both full and part-time bootcamps, in order to appeal to as many customers as possible. By so doing, it immerses users in code, challenging the business model of its more remote competitors, such as Codecademy. Le Wagon's success is clear; it now operates in 27 countries with 43 campuses.
Founded in France, the company raised its first round of funding in 2019, after many years of bootstrapping, and has since grown significantly; Le Wagon's most recent expansion has been to open a coding bootcamp in Cape Town, where users there will be able to benefit from its services. Operating within a market expected to reach $418M by 2030, the company is poised well for future success.

Le Wagon has really strong community values and highly prioritises diversity and inclusion. In the London team we are 70% female (UK industry average is 23% women). Our bootcamps are often 50% women as well. We put a lot into developing an exciting and inclusive events calendar for both students and staff including Pilates, Tech Talks from industry experts, Demo Days where students showcase their final products at the end of the bootcamps, games nights and more. As an employee, the social culture is a real perk. Students and staff quickly become friends, there are opportunities to work flexibly and work with our global branches who we also meet at the global retreat once a year!

I learned coding three years ago doing one of our bootcamps, and loved every day since! For me it was important to give back what I experienced, and help others to change their careers - and even lives! - and have the opportunity to learn coding through other ways than universities. A lot of our projects promote tech to under-represented groups, which is very inspiring and motivating!
