Our take

The education technology industry is worth around a quarter of a trillion dollars and is only set to grow as radical new technologies like AI accelerate digitalisation. Increasingly, education providers are becoming aware of the cost savings, improved education outcomes and rapid scalability of online learning, and a plethora of startups have sprung into existence to provide technological solutions to make this a possibility.

Learnosity, founded in the late 00s, aims to take part in this shift by providing assessment APIs for educational product developers. This allows products to be shipped within weeks rather than months or years and avoids the significant expense and expertise requirements of building assessment and reporting systems from the ground up.

Learnosity's customers include the likes of Pearson, Cambride University Press and PowerSchool, and it has over 40 million learners using its products. With its 2021 acquisition of Questionmark, an online assessments and proctoring company, Learnosity aims to increase its marketing reach and cement its leadership in the educational assessment space.
